Weather Rocks
south of Lennox Point, Lennox Head,
The last remnant of the great Warrior chief of our tribe who had powers of a god a man who scattered his foes like chaff and brought down the lightning to destroy them. This powerful man offended the great spirit of the mountains who turned him into a rock and fixed him for all eternity by the seashore, with power to bring rain or fine weather, or render fruitful the childless wife who appealed for his assistance. He stands there until this day and when our people want rain we walked out to the edge of the cliff and throw stones at his hands to wake him up as he snoozes like the seven sleepers. When the old fellow wakes up he sees at a glance what is wanted turns on the weather rain or shine then goes off the sleep again. If too much rain came we would once more wake him up with a few small stones and the old fellow turns off the bad weather and goes back to sleep until he is summonsed again to turn on the atmosphere.
The last of the rock has collapsed into the sea I have captured him in his slumber.
